HOW DOES 3D PRINTING OF PLASTIC COMPONENTS WORK?
3D printers manufacture components layer by layer by adding material. This rather slow process still allows the production of rapid prototypes compared to the production of tools. It also allows the realization of complex shapes and the use of many different materials.
WHAT TOLERANCES CAN 3D INJECTION PARTS REACH?
Typical tolerances are +/- 0.2~0.3mm, these can be fine tuned with re-machining of parts for critical dimensions.
