NeoCem creates a new low-carbon cement production unit in Oise

NeoCem is opening a low-carbon cement production unit in Saint-Maximin (Oise), operational from the second quarter of 2025 and employing 40 people. Thanks to its patented process, the company is drastically reducing CO2 emissions, producing cement that is 10 times less emissive than traditional methods. Its "flash-calcination" technology makes it possible to cook recycled clays at 750°C in a few seconds, compared to 1450°C for several hours for conventional cement. With an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes, the plant will avoid 150,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The result of 4 years of R&D in partnership with the Société des grands projets and IMT Nord Europe, this innovation has been validated by Ademe and BPI France as the most cost-effective decarbonization solution. NeoCem plans four new plants by 2030.
