The Papeterie de la Lune in Bègles in Gironde is reborn under the impetus of Global Hygiène

After three years of inactivity, the former Bègles paper mill is restarting under the name Papeterie de la Lune, dedicated to the production of hygiene paper. Bought and modernized by Global Hygiène, the factory relaunched a first production line for glued embossed paper in April 2024. Now, with around ten employees on a 48,000 m² site, the objective is to reach 12,000 tonnes of hand towel rolls, toilet paper and medical sheets per year. A second line is planned by 2027. Global Hygiène, which generates €80 million in sales, aims to transform the site into an integrated paper mill, a first for the group. This relaunch allows the group to strengthen its industrial autonomy and meet growing demand in the professional hygiene market.
