Lacq: a future sustainable fuel plant and 150 jobs created

Elyse Energy will build a new plant in Lacq, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, dedicated to the production of sustainable aviation fuel from local biomass. The project, which won the Carb Aero call for projects, is expected to create 150 jobs and be operational by 2030. The site will produce 82,000 tonnes of "e-biokerosene" per year. The biomass used will be mainly forestry (43%), sourced from sustainable forest management, supplemented by agricultural by-products (23%) such as corn cobs and almond shells, as well as wood waste and sawmill by-products. The fuel will then be transported by rail to supply Bordeaux airport and other major networks.
