ABB modernizes its Chassieu site with €5 million invested in automation

In Chassieu (69), ABB is strengthening its status as a global center of excellence by investing €5 million in a fully automated LV contactor manufacturing line (9-96 A) and a 400 m² R&D laboratory. With 4.5 million contactors produced each year and exported to more than 100 countries, the Cofrac-certified site integrates robots, AI, and RFID for seamless traceability and a defect rate reduced to 500 ppm. Already committed to the Mission to Zero program, it has reduced its energy consumption by 61%, confirming its leading role in the energy transition.
