94 - Gen-Hy: France’s first producer of AEMs for green hydrogen

The first French production unit for AEM membranes (Anion Exchange Membrane), dedicated to the production of green hydrogen, has just been inaugurated in Orly (Val-de-Marne). It will have required an investment of 2.5 million euros. Gen-Hy is therefore today the only French company and the third in Europe to have designed and developed its own Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM), baptized “GEN-AEM”. This production unit allows the manufacture of the first French AEM systems in order to produce up to 3 Megawatts per year and up to 480 m² of “GEN-AEM” membranes. This line will be followed by a larger capacity industrial line at the end of 2022 with the construction of a 15,000 m² factory on a site yet to be defined.
