76 - Euroapi to invest in its Normandy plant to boost its vitamin B12 production

The manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients Euroapi has just announced an investment of 40 million euros for the implementation of a new technology for the production of vitamin B12 at its site in Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf, in Seine-Maritime. . This project should enable it to increase its production capacity by 2025 while reducing its environmental footprint.

In addition to the expansion of the Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf plant, this project provides for the deployment of new generation fermentation technology which will increase the site's production by 60%.

This new technology will give EUROAPI the means to develop a more robust and nitrite-free manufacturing process, to reduce its waste and to reduce its water consumption by approximately 50%.

This innovative process has also been designed to reduce the number of steps required to manufacture the product. Vitamin B12 production is expected to reach full capacity by 2027.
