07 - MP Hygiène invests in an exceptional new machine

Already a leader in the French tissue paper market for industrial and commercial use, the French papermaker MP Hygiène will drastically reduce its CO2 footprint thanks to the start-up of an AHEAD 2.2 paper machine by 2024. 'Annonay in Ardèche is going to be equipped with a new high-speed tissue paper machine equipped with an electric ventilation system with three stages of heat recovery: the AHEAD 2.2 paper machine from Toscotec. A major development for the company and the tissue paper industry in general, this investment will make it possible to double the production capacity of parent reels. The Annonay factory will also be the first in the world to use electric hoods to produce them… So an extremely reduced carbon footprint, even the lowest in the world. The MP AHEAD 2.2 is expected to take flight in the first quarter of 2024, which is expected to boost the company's tissue paper production capacity to 38,000 tons/year. MP Hygiène's strategy is to achieve 65,000 tonnes/year of paper produced by 2025, ie 30,000 tonnes from MP 1 and 35,000 tonnes from the second machine, with a mix of 50% recycled products.
