A new organization for MG Tech with a key move from its Breton site
MG TECH, a key player in the end of the packaging line, has taken an important step in its development by bringing together under a single legal entity all of its production sites acquired through external growth over the past ten years.
These changes began in 2022 with an overhaul of the visual identity coupled with a new positioning in view of the opening of its Canadian subsidiary last June. This change continues in March 2023 with the merger of its 4 production sites, namely: MG TECH La Chapelle (85), MG TECH Angers (49), ID Pack (35) and MG Tech Handling (35), all being brought together in a single entity which will be called MG TECH France. This last phase, now active, will simplify the group's organization vis-à-vis its customers and all of its stakeholders.
MG TECH France, on the strength of its position as a major player on the French market, will be able, thanks to this project, to combine the know-how of the 4 sites and deploy a common offer to offer global solutions. Each site continues to produce its separate equipment, namely conveyor lines, case formers, case packers, palletizers and mobile robots.
The announcement of the merger also comes with a move. The Val d'Izé site located in Ille et Vilaine and specialized in standardized end-of-line packaging machines and mobile robots, is changing its address in order to better serve its customers. Eric Gautier and Xavier Lucas have chosen to move into a spacious building in Saint Aubin des Cormiers of 5800m² on a plot of 26000m² located along the Rennes-Caen motorway axis.
“ The Val d'Izé site had reached the end of the possible extensions and we had to find available space to meet the high demand. The Lean approach initiated a few months ago within the group will continue on this new site in St Aubin du Cormier and will be deployed across all departments. The attractiveness of this new site will also allow us, we hope, to attract new talent. explains Xavier Lucas, Managing Director.
A sign of the group's growth, MG Tech is continually recruiting fitters-developers and automation engineers. The capacity of the new building will eventually accommodate 120 people (compared to 70 people currently) and double the turnover.
