Plastic Omnium launches its heavy goods vehicle hydrogen tank factory site in Oise

Automotive supplier Plastic Omnium has just launched work on its largest hydrogen tank factory for buses and heavy goods vehicles. This will be installed in Lachelle, near Compiègne (Oise), will open at the end of 2024 and will ultimately produce 80,000 tanks of hydrogen. An investment of nearly 150 million euros for a factory which will employ up to 200 people. The production of tanks will be intended in part for Stellantis and a subsidiary of Renault. In this new factory, “the group will design, develop and produce high-pressure hydrogen storage systems for zero-emission mobility of heavy and commercial vehicles” explains Plastic Omnium.
