The Novo Nordisk laboratory invests 2.1 billion euros in the expansion of its Chartres production site
The Danish pharmaceutical laboratory has just formalized its intention to inject 2.1 billion euros into its historic site in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir). This is the largest investment ever made in France in the health sector. The objective: to double the size of the site which produces insulin cartridges and vials, as well as injector pens for the treatment of diabetes. This expansion of capacity should also allow Chartres to package the Danish laboratory's new obesity treatment, for which global demand is exploding. The announced expansion project should reach 230,000 m2. An investment will be accompanied by more than 500 new jobs to ensure production activities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when the facilities are operational.
