Soriba launches a “low carbon” concrete staircase factory
20 million euros is the amount that will be invested in Fontenay-le-Comte in Vendée by Soriba for the construction of a new factory. A huge investment for this company, the sum of which corresponds to its turnover. A sum dedicated half to the purchase and preparation of the land, the rest being devoted to industrial processes. 35 jobs will be created by 2024. Soriba has benefited from aid of 800,000 euros from the State via the France Relance scheme. The new site will produce prefabricated stairs in low-carbon concrete, will have a geothermal solution for the supply of heat and a photovoltaic plant which will cover 1/3 of electrical needs. With this investment, the managers have chosen to set up a semi-automated factory of 6,500 m2, a virtual obligation in the face of the shortage of qualified labour.
