AR - Lead Screw Protector
The AR protector is to be fixed directly on the lathe on either side of the carriage. Sold in pairs of 2 rolled canvases, the lead screw of your lathe will be fully protected.
As soon as the carriage is moved, the canvas winding system in the steel block cleans the lead screw of any shavings so as not to damage the internal components.
It is better to take a slightly larger model so as not to damage the protector when the cart moves.
A guard that is too small may deteriorate if the carriage is moved too far left/right.
Help in calculating the correct size:
- Position the carriage in the center of the lathe.
- Take the lengths of the lead screw on either side of the carriage without moving it. These lengths added to each other will indicate the maximum length of the protection to be selected.
- Measure the height from the lead screw to the turning bar to know the height to choose.
Example :
Length to the left of the carriage = 1000mm Length to the right of the carriage = 1000mm Maximum length = 1000 + 1000 = 2000mm Height from the lead screw to the sliding bar = 200mm -- > It will be necessary to select the 2000mm length protector for a height of 200mm .
