MIM-METAL INJECTION MOLDING
MIM consists of producing more or less complex metal components by injecting a mixture of metal powder and a thermoplastic polymer binder, commonly called “Feedstock”. This mixture is reduced into granules and then injected.
Debinding (removal of binders) can be thermal or chemical. This operation may take up to 24 hours.
The sintering operation can be carried out either in a continuous oven under a protective atmosphere or in a vacuum oven.
MIM is a process using the same type of equipment as for plastic injection.
This technology is particularly suitable for medium and large series parts with complex geometry.
At Porite, we started manufacturing MIM parts in Taiwan in 1996. Our business sectors are mainly; power tools, electronics, automobiles and various mechanical industries. We inject different types of materials, especially iron and stainless steel powders.
