CAD Import/Unfolding - UNFOLD

Description

The interface between the design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) of sheet metal parts.

The Unfold module is dedicated to importing CAD models and unfolding sheet metal parts. The flat geometries obtained are used by Almacam for programming cutting machines and punching machines ( Almacam Cut , Almacam Punch ) as well as programming press brakes ( Almacam Bend ). A folded part programmed in Almacam Bend can be reimported by applying the fold and dimension modifications induced by the use of real folding tools.

  • Business module particularly suited to sheet metal subcontractors who do not have CAD software to repair parts and make them manufacturable.
  • Many 3D CAD import formats supported.
  • Ability to make any part designed in CAD foldable thanks to numerous functions: automatic recognition of surfaces and folds, application of fold loss rules, face overlap, radius modification, etc.
  • Integration with Almacam Cut/Punch and Almacam Bend software.
  • Operation in automatic mode: import of a list of parts to be unfolded or an assembly.
