Efficient energy recovery in a vacuum evaporator


Energy is an expensive utility. To save energy, we have been relying on the eco-efficient process of mechanical vapour compression since 1986. Industrial effluents are treated by evaporation under slight depressurization. This process lowers the boiling point of the water. The generated water vapour passes through a vapour compressor at normal pressure and is thus heated. The condensation energy of the water vapour is reused to evaporate the effluents. Due to the recycling of energy, no additional evaporation energy is required. The motor of the vapour compressor is the only energy consumer. The VACUDEST process shows an energy efficiency of 95%.
