IO-link UGT594 ultrasonic detector
Ultrasonic sensors are used for position detection and precise continuous measurement of distances of solids, powders and liquids. They emit and receive sound waves in the ultrasonic frequency range. The object to be detected returns the sound waves, the distance information is determined by a time-of-flight measurement. This non-contact detection is independent of the color, transparency, surface characteristics or degree of gloss of the object. This makes it possible, for example, to reliably detect blister packs or transparent plastic trays in the food industry.
Even in ambient conditions at risk of heavy soiling, dust or fog, these devices detect objects reliably and without interference.
The ultrasonic sensors from ifm offer a small dead zone, large ranges and high resolution in a compact housing. The UG Cube rectangular enclosure is designed for mounting in tight space applications. Thanks to the lateral M18 thread and the connector passing from below, this type is ideal for use in conveying.
Our product range includes devices with programmable switching output and analog output. The setting of the output function, the switching points and the measuring range is carried out via push button directly on the device.
Our IO-link ultrasonic detectors are also configurable via our configuration software and the measured distance value is sent directly in millimeters to the PLC via an IO-link master. These IO-link masters also allow simple backup of the detector configuration in the event of maintenance replacement.
