Dürr EcoDose 3K

With EcoDose 3K, Dürr expands its product range for paint mixing systems by adding a three-component fluid solution based on proven two-component injection technology. The mixing system is distinguished by several features, including high precision, long service life and intelligent functions.

Like the Eco Dose 2K system used by hundreds of customers worldwide, Dürr's new Eco Dose 3K is distinguished by its long service life and ease of maintenance. The new mixing system is used whenever it is necessary to mix three components of a fluid just before application. Three-component coating systems are popular in aviation, carpentry, yacht and boat building.

Precise mixing thanks to injection technology

The Eco Dose 3K system is based on the same in-line injection technology as Dürr's established two-component mixing system. As part of an upgrade to the Eco Dose 2K system, a color changer, measuring cell and mixer were additionally integrated into the system. The controller has also been improved so that it can fully automatically dose, combine and mix all three components just before use. For this purpose, it monitors the continuous flow of the first component using a measuring cell. The other components to be injected are dosed according to the desired mixing ratio by opening and closing the valves. To ensure that the correct mixing ratio is maintained, measuring cells monitor the dosing amount.

Particular precision is required for the third component which generally determines the viscosity. Indeed, it often has a very low viscosity and only a small amount of this agent is added. The most effective way for Dürr to handle low viscosities is to use Coriolis measuring cells in the Eco Dose 3K system. These measuring cells are maintenance-free, offer high measurement accuracy and offer additional measurement functions, such as density and temperature. The Eco Dose 3K system meets high precision requirements thanks to the proven Dürr valve technology which allows injections during particularly short cycles.

Solid valve technology for long life

Despite the high switching frequency of 5 Hz, the service life of the Dürr technology valves is beyond reproach. The first series valves that Dürr launched three years ago are still in operation today and have completed more than 10 million switching cycles without any maintenance whatsoever.

In the event of minor leaks during normal operation, the valves' clever design helps prevent fluids from entering the valve's pilot air piston, preventing unwanted reactions with moisture in the air. If ever maintenance is necessary, the valve can be quickly replaced by simply unscrewing four screws: the system is thus ready for use again in just a few minutes.

Intelligent functions complete the EcoDose 3K

The Dürr Eco Dose 3K system is complemented by a 7-inch color touchscreen display where users quickly find their bearings, since operation is similar to Dürr's other controller-assisted products. The standard delivery also includes an Ethernet communication interface which can be integrated in the specific context of the controllers. In addition, the mixing system is equipped with intelligent functions to minimize both detergent consumption and fluid losses. In addition, it greatly reduces the time required for flushing and loading new liquid.
