MASTERCAM
Machining and material removal
Used in milling, turning, wire cutting, in 2D, in 3D, in 5 axes, to machine metal, wood, plastic, composites, stone, in all industrialized countries of the world, in all languages, in small companies, in larger ones… For more than 35 years Mastercam has been integrated into the French-speaking industrial IT landscape. During these years the software has progressed by respecting the demands of the users. No innovation to innovate or do marketing exhibition but to facilitate the work of programmers.
Mastercam was born in 1984, in the USA, from the will of 2 brothers, Jack and Mark Summers, to create software for programming CNC machine tools that was easy to use and operated on a PC. They baptized their company CNC Software Inc. Mastercam is a software developed by mechanics since these 2 brothers were practitioners of mechanics. There remains something of this first profession in today's society: a mechanical workshop, in the basement of the company, equipped with the latest generation machine tools. Thus developers can immediately check the quality of their work on test parts. Today CNC Software Inc remains a privately held company of more than 170 people, selling worldwide through a network of distributors. Mastercam is present in approximately 130 countries and more than 263,000 licenses have already been distributed; Mastercam is the most widely used mechanical CAM software in the world. Where there is mechanical machining, there are Mastercam stations.
