Biogroupe invests more than 5 million Euros in plant-based desserts
The company which produces fermented drinks such as tea-based kombucha, but also desserts from vegetable milk has just launched an investment of 5.2 million euros to expand its production sites and create a new factory, supported to the tune of 1.4 million euros by France Relance. Based in Erquy (Côtes d'Armor), this company is benefiting from the success of fermented vegetable drinks, which represent just over half of its turnover (10 million euros). The program involves the extension of its current tools and the creation, in 2023, of a new factory on 3,500 m². Biogroupe, which is counting on 60 million euros in turnover in 2025, intends to control its raw material as much as possible and is embarking on the production of tea in Erquy with an initial plantation of 2,500 plants, then 50,000 in 4 years to arrive to an annual harvest on 6 hectares of tea.
