67 - Voltec Solar invests despite inflation
Despite an unfavorable inflationary context and strong competition from Asia, the manufacturer of photovoltaic modules based in Dinsheim-sur-Bruche in the Bas-Rhin region wants to double its production capacity. Its objective: to invest more than 14 million euros and hire nearly 75 people. The company will thus be equipped with a new production line, based on heterojunction technologies, ie a manufacturing process that makes it possible to increase the energy yield of the cells thanks to a better purity of the silicon crystals. This will have a double advantage: doubling the production capacity in number of panels will lead to an increase in energy production capacity from 200 to 500 megawatts, but also to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing by allowing the use of less raw material for the same quantity of 'energy. However, given the supply difficulties of its suppliers, the new production line could be delayed. It should be able to go into production in September 2023.
