13 –Ardagh Metal Packaging invests in its aluminum cans in La Ciotat

The French plant of the Irish aluminum can producer wants to increase its capacities and reduce its carbon footprint. It is also getting closer to its consumption areas. With an investment of 80 million euros, the English can producer will now increase its capacity by 7 million units per day, in particular by integrating a new production line specifically intended for the manufacture of slender cans, called "slim", of 15, 20 and 25 cl hitherto imported from Germany. This investment will lead to the creation of 80 new jobs with the aim of operating non-stop, seven days a week. This La Ciotat unit was also chosen by the group - which also produces glass packaging - as part of a nearly $2 billion global expansion program. It was in competition with the 24 other factories of its subsidiary Ardagh Metal Packaging present in nine countries (4.1 billion dollars in turnover, 5,000 people), including Poland, Italy and Spain.
