Prysmian to invest 61 million euros in Gron
The cable specialist for energy and telecommunications Prysmian has just announced an investment project called "CAPAPLASER" of 61 million euros on its Gron site. It will benefit from public funding of 5 million euros intended to increase the production capacity of ecological cables. This "massive" investment responds to a "strategic challenge" for the group since "the current production capacities of very high voltage electric cables are proving insufficient on the market to supply all future projects in France and Europe. ", in a context of "changing uses of electricity and the energy mix", involving "massive investments in transport networks". The project should notably make it possible to increase the production capacity of the site by 17,000 tonnes, to modernize the infrastructures and to make the Gron site sustainable.
