Safran sets up a new aircraft engine parts factory in Rennes
It is on the Janais site that the group has decided to set up an aircraft engine parts foundry plant in 2027, which will employ 200 people. This new factory, named Safran Turbines Airfoils, will manufacture civil and military aircraft engine parts. More precisely turbine blades, the M88 engine of the Rafale and the Leap engine of the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo, the two best-selling models of the two aircraft manufacturers. This Rennes unit will make it possible to "strengthen the LEAP engine supply chain", explains Jean-Paul Alary, president of Safran Aircraft Engines, in a press release. The new factory should also make it possible "to meet our challenges of ramping up production on the M88 military engine", which powers the Rafale, Dassault's aircraft.
