Transponder-coded safety switches according to ATEX directive
In potentially explosive atmospheres, the equipment used must comply with specific requirements dictated by the ATEX Directive and the corresponding standards. Transponder safety switches are category 3D/3G devices within the meaning of the ATEX Directive and can be used in hazardous zones 2 and 22 (resp. gas and dust).
For explosion protection, safety switches are available as an interlocking device without guard locking or with monitored guard locking. Transponder-coded actuators have a unique coding. In the case of safety switches in the Unicode version, the actuators must be taught in by the integrated evaluation electronics. Only the already taught-in actuator can activate the safety outputs. The Unicode principle offers a high level of tamper-proofing in the event of an attempt to bypass the guards.
