Combined with the NRS 1-50 level indicator, the NRG 1-50 level electrodes are used as water level limiters for steam and superheated water boiler installations. The water level limiters switch off the heating when the lowest defined water level (NB) is reached.
When the lowest water level is reached, the level electrode is no longer submerged which triggers an alarm in the level limiter NRS 1-50. This "low level (NB) not reached" cut-off point. is determined by the length of the electrode rod. The level electrode works according to the conductive measuring principle and carries out self-monitoring. This means that a leaky or dirty electrode insulator and/or a fault in the electrical connection also triggers an alarm. The level electrode is mounted inside steam boilers,
