NORELEM
Trapezoidal nuts and trapezoidal thread screws
These high-quality components enable reliable trapezoidal screw drive systems, which can be used, for example, in machine tools, presses, linear units or lifting devices.
norelem offers trapezoidal nuts in the form of lock nuts, hex nuts and flanged nuts. The specific customer requirements determine the material – threaded nuts in bronze, steel, stainless steel or plastic. Plastic models, for example, guarantee good running characteristics and low noise emissions.
A trapezoidal screw drive system – i.e. the combination of a trapezoidal thread screw and a nut – converts rotary motion into linear motion. It is a driving screw with a relatively high coefficient of friction, which has a self-locking effect. This has the advantage that no safety is generally necessary in the rest position.
For trapezoidal screw drive systems, we recommend the combination of steel for the screw and bronze for the nut. This combination offers the best wear resistance and has good emergency running properties in the event of lack of lubricant.
For manual drives or mechanical drives of short duration at low speeds and with light loads, users can also opt for a steel nut.
- Rolled: this manufacturing method does not interrupt the direction of the fibers of the raw material, which has a positive effect on the load capacity. Compared to whirled trapezoidal thread screws, the surface hardness is up to 30% higher and the breaking strength up to 12% greater. Trapezoidal thread screws are available with different single or double pitches and with right or left-hand thread. - By default, these screws are made of case-hardened steel 1.0401 (C15) or stainless steel 1.4305.
