NORELEM
Self-tapping threaded inserts norelem
In addition to the classic threaded inserts, norelem now offers the self-tapping variants with thread sizes from M3 to M16 and in several lengths.
When it comes to making connections with materials such as aluminium, brass, bronze, cast iron, Duroplast and Thermoplast and capable of withstanding high stresses, tearing and vibrations, the norelem self-tapping threaded inserts are the right choice. In materials with low hardness and resistance to cutting, they guarantee the necessary robustness and allow multiple loosening and tightening of the threaded connections. Self-tapping threaded inserts are widely used in the metal and plastic processing industry, but also in crafts.
Threaded inserts in case-hardened steel (zinc-plated, yellow passivated, chromium VI-free) or stainless steel create strong compression with the material in which they are housed, are corrosion-resistant and easy to fit. Taper-shaped threaded inserts with a cutting slot have an effect of reducing the size of the slot at the point during screwing, depending on the size of the pre-drilling and the hardness of the material in which they are lodged.
If the resulting locking effect of the screw is not desired, use the regular-shaped threaded inserts: they are particularly suitable for materials that are difficult to machine. Thanks to their thicker walls and three cutting bores, they exert more force when removing chips. For the assembly of the threaded inserts, manual assembly tools are available for small series and machine assembly tools for large series.
