Emergency repair of a coke gas booster
Within the framework of a maintenance contract, ARCELORMITTAL Dunkirk asked our company to replace and repair a gas booster.
Remember that to perform this type of service, AVIME, MASE certified, relies on its maintenance teams trained in industrial gas risks and N1/N2 qualified.
To carry out this intervention, starting with dismantling on site then taking charge of the equipment in our workshops in Wavrin and ending with reassembly and commissioning, our design office first modeled then re-implemented the rotating machine on its solid mass in order to limit as much as possible the destructive effects of vibratory phenomena (imbalance, aeraulic pumping, etc.).
The aeraulics have therefore been checked and optimized as well as the seat and the seals of the booster.
Our technicians then prepared the entire machine in our workshops following a scrupulous operating procedure, then supervised the reassembly on site in record time to limit the time for intervention and mobilization of lifting gear.
Once the machine was installed and secured on its base, we were able to make the appropriate seals.
On May 17, 2019, the conclusive mechanical tests and vibration signature validated the gassing of the booster and the successful restart of the installation, punctuated by congratulations from the client.
Technically, the rotor with radial blades is 2-stage connected by a connecting channel, the bearings are oil-lubricated for a rotation speed of 3000 rpm, the power is 355 kw.
Once again, AVIME has demonstrated its capacity for expertise and responsiveness!
