AMES GROUP SINTERING
SINTERED GEARS
Powder metallurgy allows the manufacture of gears of different sizes, profiles and shapes (straight, double or helical), of steels with different alloying grades, finished with heat treatments (case hardening, carbonitriding, induction hardening, steam treatment) or with a stainless steel base.
In the choice of materials, sinterhardened steels are particularly important because they already have high hardness when they leave the sintering furnace, without the need for subsequent heat treatment.
AMES is able to manufacture high-density, high-performance gears using the AmesDens-A® and AmesDens-C® processes. The process to be used depends on the geometry and density that are required.
For top-performance gears, AMES offers its SurfaDens® surface densification process, which achieves an accurate tooth profile and a surface density comparable to that of a conventional wrought steel.
The most common applications of sintered gears are: Gearboxes, Sprockets and pulleys for connecting systems, Fluid transfer gears and Gears and toothed parts of sundry shapes.
