For today's punching tools a service life of more than 200,000 blows is usual. This lifetime depends on the quality of the cylinder guidance (cylinder side), the lubrication of the sheet, the quality of the cutting edge and the punch-die alignment. A good quality of the cutting edge can only be obtained by sharpening.

For breakdowns on a punching machine, the causes often lie in the tooling, e.g. A bad choice of cutting set, badly sharpened tool.

When setting up a punching machine, our experience shows that we do not attach much importance to the investment in tools. The question of a sharpener is rarely considered.

In order to avoid an annealing of the surface of the tool during sharpening, EASY SHARP is equipped with an integrated cooling system which follows the pendulum movement of the grinding wheel and allows lubrication at the exact point of the sharpening.
