57 – Lapp electric cables invest 7.5 million Euros in Moselle to double their production
The German Lapp is injecting 7.5 million euros into its Forbach site (Moselle) with the aim of increasing its production of electric cables while improving the recovery of its industrial residues. At the same time, the factory with 283 employees is starting a recruitment plan for 30 employees. The boom in e-commerce and investments in renewable energies in Europe favor the production of electric cables from this factory. The creation of new production lines aims to increase its turnover and industrialize new products such as solar cables, which are used to connect photovoltaic panels. A new production line delivered this year aims to increase the sheathing capacities of copper wires with an insulator. Currently in the approval phase with the company's customers, the production of this line (1,000 to 1,500 kilometers of cables per month) will increase the capacity of the Moselle site by 10%.
