A new OMERIN factory in the Clermont-Ferrand basin to produce cables for the electric mobility market
The OMERIN group will build a new 12,000 m² factory (First tranche) in the Orléat-Lezoux activity zone on a plot of 67,000 m². Building on the success of special cables for Electric Mobility, designed and developed by OMERIN, and taking into account the development prospects of this market, the Ambertois group is accelerating and revising upwards its investment projects. A dedicated factory will be built to be operational in the 2nd quarter of 2025. The buildable surface area on this land of almost 7 hectares will also make it possible to plan several phases of successive extension works, to become the largest European site dedicated exclusively to production. of this range of cables. 20 million Euros will be invested in the first tranche of this project until the plant starts up. Historically, OMERIN is recognized in numerous fields of application for its extreme cables such as railway, naval, aeronautical construction or household appliances, electromechanics, heavy industry, renewable energies, etc.
