- Aluminum and non-ferrous metals
- Possibility of surface treatment
- 3 and 4 axis machining centers
- Assembly possibilities
WHAT IS THE LOST WAX FOUNDRY?
Lost wax casting is a technique for making metal parts by pouring molten material into a refractory material mold made around a wax model part.
Different stages of manufacturing a lost wax piece:
- Production of wax model pieces
- Clustering of these model pieces, hung on racks
- Coating of refractory material clusters, creation of “moulds”
- Melt the wax inside these molds to create the molding cavities
- Pouring of molten metal into molds brought to temperature
- Destruction of the "mold" in refractory material to recover the metal part
- Separation of metal parts from clusters / metal casting lines by cutting
- Finishing of parts (blasting, deburring, machining, treatment)
ADVANTAGES OF LOST WAX CASTING
- Possibility of manufacturing very complex parts
- Very good surface condition (around Ra6.3-3.2)
- Precision parts of the order of a tenth of a mm
DISADVANTAGES OF LOST WAX CASTING
- Due to the many operations, requires large series and is costly in terms of personnel
- Longer production time than other foundry methods
- Difficulties with large parts and parts with complex cavities
