High-precision metal bellows couplings are used in all applications that require precise positioning: medical technologies, test benches, wind turbines or ultra-dynamic servo axes in machine tools, woodworking machines, manufacturing machines. packaging, etc. As a leading supplier, R+W strives to continually expand its range of metal bellows couplings for various applications in the most diverse sizes and designs.

MODE OF OPERATION: METAL BELLOWS COUPLINGS

Metal bellows couplings are particularly suitable for direct drives. The typical metal bellows is the key element of this coupling. It compensates for axial and angular misalignments for low restoring forces. The backlash-free, torsionally rigid metal bellows couplings ensure precise positioning of the drive unit and can be used in ultra-dynamic applications up to over 10,000 rpm on a finely balanced model.

    • with clamping hub and respectively an ISO 4762 side screw,
    • from series 800, two offset by 180° by tight connection by force connection
  • Temperature range: -30 to +100°C
  • Backlash: Absolutely backlash-free thanks to tight, force-bonded connection and proven principle
  • Lifespan: metal bellows couplings are durable for life and maintenance-free if the technical instructions are observed
  • Tolerance: of the shaft-hub connection 0.01 - 0.05 mm
  • Material :
    • Highly elastic stainless steel bellows

  • Brief overload: allowed at 1.5 times the TKN value
  • Technical characteristics: up to 10,000 rpm. More than 10,000 rpm on finely balanced model (possible up to G = 2.5)
