FCO452 pressure transmitter


Description

The FCO452 differential pressure transmitter is designed for outdoor, wet or dirty industrial environments. With an uncertainty of less than 0.25% of reading and a robust IP66-rated aluminum housing, this transmitter ensures accurate flow and pressure measurements. It features an OLED display for optimum visibility and an integrated keypad for easy configuration. Its output is linear or square root, ideal for control and monitoring applications in a variety of industries.


Technical details

The FCO452 is the industrial version of the 400 Series low differential pressure transmitters. Models start with a measuring range of just ±50 Pa (uncertainty of 0.25% of reading), up to a range of -1 to 10 bar in differential pressure. An absolute pressure version (1500 mbar) is also available.

A robust IP66 aluminium housing provides the necessary protection in wet or dirty environments. Various pneumatic connections are available for different pipe sizes with a manifold bracket option for mounting isolation valves. The manifold version features all wetted parts in 316 stainless steel for use with aggressive gases.

The FCO452 has built-in temperature correction, configurable units and adjustable output damping. The microcontroller can apply root transforms to allow the output to give direct velocity readings from the measured differential pressure.

Electrical output

Available with a standard 2-wire 4-20mA current output or optional isolated 4-wire, as well as various voltage output possibilities. Adjustable relays allow the transmitter to directly drive external alarms or other circuits when measurement thresholds are reached.

User interface

The low power LCD display allows the instrument to be powered via the 4-20mA circuit, while the clear, easy-to-read blue OLED display requires a separate 24V power supply. The instrument's built-in membrane keypad allows for easy configuration of instrument settings, while the micro-USB connector can be used for configuration via the supplied utility software.

Typical use cases

The FCO452 is designed to replace inaccurate water column gauges, VA flow meters, analog meters and pressure switches. It is suitable for industrial and scientific control, measurement and monitoring applications including:

Combustion pressure measurement and control of dryers, ovens, etc.
Flow measurement or blockage detection on filters and membranes
Gas/air flow measurement in conjunction with laminar flow elements or pitot tubes
Glove boxes, clean rooms, wind tunnels and many more….
