AMG Solution - DyneTEC ink for measuring surface tension
The determination of the surface tension can be made by measuring the angle of the deposited liquid and Young's equation or even more simply by using TANTEC's DyneTEC Test ink.
This measurement is based on the ASTM/ISO method for measuring the surface tension of polypropylene film . When the test ink is applied to the surface, it either forms a continuous film or shrinks into droplets. If the ink remains as a film for at least 3 seconds, the medium has a minimum surface energy of the value of the ink. If the ink shrinks into droplets, the surface energy of the medium is lower than that of the ink. The exact surface tension can be determined by applying an increasing or decreasing range of inks.
The inks are available from 2 mN/m in 2 mN/m since 30 mN/m until 58 mN/m with in addition a 72 mN/m ink . They are delivered in a 20 ml glass bottle with an applicator incorporated in the cap.
