IFM
3D vision sensor
The O3D range at ifm is an optoelectronic vision sensor that measures the distance between the sensor and the next surface on an ad hoc basis using the time-of-flight principle of light.
The sensor can be used in applications where it is necessary to check the filling rate, the determination of volumes and the sorting of objects.
It is thus possible to ascertain whether packages, for example boxes or pallets, contain the expected number of products.
This verification is independent of the color or texture of the product.
The sensor can be comfortably and intuitively adjusted via a parameterization software: the VisionAssistant.
Other possible applications are found in parcel services, warehouses and logistics centers. For automatic planning of storage locations, the sensor detects package dimensions, such as their size, orientation and position. The available storage volumes can thus be used optimally.
Also possible to access the point cloud to better perceive and understand the scenes.
