VISOR® Robotic
Component Sourcing
The supply of components on an assembly line is becoming more and more complicated – in addition to supply via conveyors, great flexibility can be achieved via supply via bowl or vibrating plate. With VISOR® Robotic, it is now possible to locate and pick up parts for these two supply variants. To avoid damaging the gripper or the products, the control of the free space around the product is possible. The VISOR® calculates the two pieces of information and sends them via one of the integrated and standardized communication interfaces to the robot controller. According to the information, the object is then grabbed by the robot and the vibrating table places new objects in place. Also for specific product layouts, the application can be more flexible, a complex centralized unit becomes obsolete. The VISOR® recognizes the situation and the filling level[1] of the conveyor and sends this information to the robot. If the camera is fixedly mounted, the sensor can operate in masked time so as not to impact productivity.
Component processing
What happens after the components are picked up by the robot arm? The VISOR® Robotic is also a source of important information for the following work steps. For robot-driven applications such as placing screws, mounting clips or laying down glue dots, the VISOR® Robotic demonstrates its skills. It detects a component effortlessly and thus allows the correction of its position and thus increases the quality of production. Knowing the exact position of a component ensures, for example, the precise insertion of a windscreen. The mechanical integration effort is reduced, the installation becomes even more flexible. The concept of the VISOR® Robotic allows direct communication of the VISOR® with the robot, an additional instance is therefore no longer necessary for many applications
