Pâte Décapafond® is a powerful acid pickling paste designed for localized cleaning of welds and oxidized areas on stainless steel . Ideal after TIG, MIG or orbital welding, it effectively removes thermal traces, corrosion pits and discoloration , while ensuring a professional finish.
Its stable, pasty texture allows precise application with a brush (supplied) , without dripping, even on vertical surfaces. In 10 to 30 minutes, your parts will regain a clean and uniform appearance, ready to be passivated to guarantee their durability.

Type : Acid pickling paste for stainless steel
Function : Removal of oxidation, pitting, thermal discoloration and welding marks on stainless steel
Formulation : Acid mixture based on nitric acid (HNO₃) and hydrofluoric acid (HF)
Appearance : Homogeneous white paste, ready to use
Application : Manual, with the brush provided – allows for targeted and clean application (even in a vertical position)
Action time : 10 to 30 minutes depending on the level of oxidation or alteration
Operating temperature : +10°C to +40°C (ambient)
Compatible materials : All types of stainless steel (austenitic, ferritic, duplex, etc.)
Rinsing : With clean water – pH control recommended (target >6 before passivation)
Neutralization : Recommended with a suitable neutralizer or thorough rinsing
Storage : In a ventilated area, protected from frost and high heat
