66 - A new tempered glass production line for Riou Glass VIR

Riou Glass is consolidating its know-how in the manufacture of safety glass. ETI has just finalized the installation of a new tempered glass production line on its Riou Glass VIR site, located in the town of Pia in the Pyrénées-Orientales, near Perpignan. The investment of 1.5 million euros aims to strengthen the group's positions in the South of France. The 13,000 m ² factory employs 85 people and produces 350,000 m ² of double glazing each year for the carpentry and facade markets. It is equipped with two assembly lines for insulating glazing, one of which allows very large volumes of up to 6 x 3.21 meters. In addition, to guarantee a complete offer and high quality tempered glasses to its customers, Riou Glass VIR has acquired three new pieces of equipment: a shaping center, a tempering furnace and an HST (Heat Soak Test) furnace. . The company is thus equipped with an industrial technique that eliminates the risk of spontaneous breakage due to inclusions of nickel sulphide (NiS) in the glass. It also guarantees the traceability of glazing that can measure up to 4.8 x 2.4 m intended for the facade or railings.
