Saint-Gobain is going to invest 120 million Euros in new glass wool production capacities in France
Saint-Gobain, through its subsidiary specializing in insulation ISOVER, will invest 120 million euros from 2022 and over the next few years to increase its insulation production capacities in France and support the acceleration of the energy renovation. These investments will relate both to increasing the capacity of ISOVER's existing production lines and to creating a new line. By 2025, in response to very strong demand supported by energy renovation challenges, Saint-Gobain will thus supply the French market with more than 70,000 additional tonnes of glass wool insulation (including 11,000 tonnes from 2023 ), which will make it possible to renovate the equivalent of 100,000 additional homes each year. In addition, out of the initial envelope of 120 million euros, 20 million euros will be earmarked specifically for the decarbonization of activities and the development of the circular economy. They will enable the installation of a processing unit for deconstruction waste with a view to their reincorporation into the production process as a substitute for virgin raw materials, and an increase in the proportion of recycled glass used in the production process, to reach 80% in 2025.
