43 - A new luxury fabric factory in Haute-Loire
The new factory in Saint-Germain-Laprade of the Thévenon group (house founded in 1908), will be operational in September to respond to the luxury sector and the “Made in France” label. The company, which has the particularity of being both an upholstery fabric editor and a manufacturer, offers two collections a year, as in fashion or in haute couture. Without abandoning the production tools in Tunisia or Romania, the company has just created a new factory in Saint-Germain-Laprade to respond precisely to this luxury industry, i.e. approximately 20% of the clientele today, with the stated objective to develop this production segment in the years to come. The new factory (2.8 million investment) received its fleet of machines a few weeks ago, custom-made in the Netherlands and Italy. The company has just recruited 12 garment makers. A second wave of recruitment is planned in six months. It is accompanied by 400 hours of training to guarantee the "versatility" of new employees who must be able to start from the fabric to go to the curtain ready to deliver.
