THE TECHNICAL BASIS: THE PRINCIPLE OF ENGAGEMENT OF THE R+W TORQUE LIMITER BALL
Mechanical torque limiters from R+W operate according to the spring-loaded ball engagement principle and serve as the ultimate emergency stopping elements of machines. Characteristic of the torque limiter operating mode: the high rigidity of the elements and the complete absence of play. If the torque exceeds the defined threshold, the balls engage and separate the drive side from the output side.
- Structure :
- Two coupling hubs manufactured with high concentricity, with concave shaped feed dogs.
- The torque limiter is integrated into one side.
- Optional elastomer insert, in execution A or B.
- Temperature range: depending on the elastomer insert chosen.
- Torsional stiffness: In order to optimize the drive unit, we offer different Shore hardnesses for the elastomer inserts.
- Tolerance clearance: of the shaft-hub connection 0.01 - 0.05 mm.
