Enclosed torque motor
The Cartridge Direct Drive Rotary (DDR) motor is the first industrial motor to combine the small footprint and high performance advantages offered by frameless DDR technology with the ease of installation of a full frame motor. Cartridge DDR motors also feature an advanced electromagnetic design providing 50% more torque density than conventional servo motors of the same size. Conventional servo systems typically include multiple mechanical transmission components that, in addition to increasing operating cost, limit performance and reliability.
Cartridge DDR motors eliminate all mechanical transmission parts and achieve the following characteristics:
• Assembly in 5 minutes
• 5 frame sizes, several lengths
• Continuous torque range: 4.57 Nm (3.37 lb-ft) to 510 Nm (373 lb-ft), compatibility with many high power application requirements
• Optimized output torque with an efficient electromagnetic design based on a high number of poles
• Built-in high resolution sine encoder
• 134,217,728 points/lap
• Speeds up to 2,500 RPM to meet most medium to high torque application requirements
• Meets the high horsepower requirements of most frameless motor applications
• Elimination of maintenance requirements for gearboxes, belts and pulleys thanks to the direct drive of the load
• Low cogging effect to ensure smooth rotation at low speed
• Zero backlash and compliance for better system performance
