Absolute rotary encoder
HEIDENHAIN rotary encoders of the types ROC and ROQ (400/1000 series), RIC and RIQ (400 series) are used to record measured values of rotary movements and angular velocities. When combined with mechanical measuring media, for example worms, they can also measure linear displacements.
• Position/turn value up to 33,554,432 (25 bits)
• up to 4096 distinct rotations (12 bits)
• Hollow shaft from Ø6mm to 50mm
• rotation speed up to 12000 rpm
Angle encoders and absolute rotary encoders provide the current position value directly, without having to move the machine axis. Single-turn sensors provide the current angular position value over one turn, while multi-turn rotary encoders distinguish multiple turns. Position values are transmitted via a serial data interface: EnDat, SSI, PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET or other. Bi-directional interfaces – EnDat, PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET – provide automatic commissioning, monitoring and diagnostic functions. Areas of use and examples of applications They are used, for example, on electric drives, machine tools, printing machines, woodworking machines, textile machines, robots and manipulators, as well as on various types metrology and control devices.
