HANDLES DESIGNED FOR AERONAUTICS
In 2008, the Chinese state launched the C919 project with COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd) for the manufacture of medium-haul aircraft. More than ten years after the announcement of the project, it was in 2019 that the first device was delivered.
Chosen as a partner to ensure the handling of high value-added parts on this project, ACIMEX provides a plate carrier beam allowing horizontal movement and 90° tilting. ACIMEX therefore intervenes during the pre-assembly phase for the middle part of the aircraft body.
Precision in handling as well as the fragility of the parts to be moved are the main technical requirements of the customer.
Using its suction cups, the ACIMEX spreader grips the fuselage skin (the skin of the aircraft) laid out in the form of sheet metal on a trolley. Once the grip is made, the sheet is then tilted, moved and then deposited at the assembly station.
