The logistic robotics specialist Exotec raises 335 million dollars
Exotec, which designs and develops solutions combining robotics and software to optimize order preparation and logistics, has just raised 335 million dollars (292 million euros). Valued at two billion dollars, the nugget based in Croix (Nord) becomes the first French industrial unicorn. The sums should enable it to accelerate R&D and the internationalization of its 3D storage solution. Exotec is surfing on the e-commerce boom and has developed technologies considered among the best on the market. The company founded by Romain Moulin achieved a turnover of 105 million euros in 2021 and should reach 200 million by the end of 2022, according to its manager. As a result, it is recruiting 300 people, which will double its current workforce, recruitments financed by this fundraising. The Croix factory, which produced 2,000 robots last year, now employs 200 people. But the company is looking even further since it aims to hire a total of 500 engineers by 2024, which would increase the workforce of Croix to 700 employees.
