13 - Smilers launches a new factory in Salon-de- Provence
The subsidiary of the French leader in dental implants, Biotech Dental, will invest 15 million euros in an ultra-automated site for orthodontic care. Its goal ? Now to attack the American market. Since the creation of this subsidiary of Biotech Dental in 2013, nearly 1.5 million orthodontic aligners have been sold, which has saturated its production tool installed in Salon-de-Provence. To continue its growth, the group has just invested 15 million euros in the construction of a new factory near the existing facilities which will house 4 3D printing and thermoforming lines from September. The unit will be able to produce more than 10,000 tooth aligners daily, seven times its current capacity. At full capacity, it will employ 300 people, mostly robotic driving technicians and finishing operators. "It is already the largest aligner factory in Europe", assures Philippe Veran, president of the dental implantology group Biotech Dental.
