ProLogium builds a new battery factory in Dunkirk
The Taiwanese manufacturer ProLogium has chosen France for the installation of a future factory for solid electric vehicle batteries (more efficient and safer than current batteries). It will be associated with a production site for materials for these batteries, operated by the French Orano and the Chinese XTC. The overwhelming majority of electric vehicle batteries are produced in China. The rise in tensions between Beijing and the West, as well as the need to reduce the carbon impact of their production, are pushing Europe to relocate its battery production to France. The plant should be operational by the end of 2026. ProLogium will invest 5.2 billion euros there by 2030, for 3,000 jobs in the plant and 12,000 indirect jobs in the territory.
